There are three kinds of termites found in California that are of economic importance:  The Drywood Termite, the Dampwood Termite, and the Subterranean Termite.


All three species of termites are susceptible to targeted chemical applications if the infestation accessible for technicians to treat them.
Subterranean Termites live in the soil and should almost always be treated in that soil.  Ellett Exterminator uses Termidor to eradicate termites with precision injection methods.

In some cases, termites are found to be harboring in inaccessible areas.  These are places such as inside of walls or parts of an attic that are to small to crawl to.  In cases such as these, the State of California recognizes only two treatment options:  Fumigation, which includes sealing the dwelling (tenting,) and injecting a lethal gas into the structure, or Thermal Pest Eradication, where dry, hot moving flows of air are introduced into the structure to head the wood to a temperature that is lethal to insects (but not to us, our pets, or our property.)
